Everyone knows I love a good 'love at first sight' story, so you can imagine my surprise when, browsing for romance at Barns & Noble, I found this.
One Day in December tells the story of Laurie, a girl who, unlike me, believes that love at first sight is only a thing for the movies. Until one cold December day when she sees, through a misted window, a man, who she knows is going to be the one. Their eyes meet, butterflies, fireworks, the whole shabang! Just when she's considering pushing her way through the bus drives away.
She looks for the man of her dreams in every bus stop for a year. Now that she believes in love at first sight, she is certain they will find their way back to each other.
And they did, not quite like she planned, but they finally meet when, Laurie's friend, Sarah introduces him as Jack, her new boyfriend.
Do you need me to tell you more of this love triangle?

Goodreads says this:
[...] What follows for Laurie, Sarah and Jack is ten years of friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, roads not taken, and destinies reconsidered. One Day in December is a joyous, heartwarming and immensely moving love story to escape into and a reminder that fate takes inexplicable turns along the route to happiness.
Go get your copy! I got mine at Barns & Noble, you can also find it at Amazon. Though, please go first to your favourite independent bookstore to see if they have it.
PS. It's extra lovely if you read it in December.
