Throttled

Hiya! July was all about Formula 1; one of my friends found a series about it and we are currently devouring it!

Last weekend we finished the first book, had our book club meeting, and here are our thoughts:

- Loved that it was F1 related.

- As avid f1 fans we did find a lot of things truly unbelievable, like Maya being allowed to film inside the car and the garage like nothing top secret is in there.

- Apparently there are no managers for the drivers cause she just interviews whomever she likes, and they miss sponsor events like it’s nothing. When driver’s get into a huge accident –like they do in the book –they don’t go back to the garage and then get checked out. They go straight away to the medical centre or to a hospital.

- If you’re not a fan or you’re just entering the world of F1 you might enjoy it a bit more than we did.

- Even with the inaccuracies, we might be reading the second book in August.

Throttled by Lauren Asher

The books are written by Lauren Asher, who’s a self published author and apparently is doing great! The series is made up by 4 books and it’s called The Dirty Air series.

The series follow the top drivers of the grid, and their journey to the world championship. First one of the series –Throttled –tells the story of Maya and Noah. Maya’s the sister to Santiago Alatorre, teammate to Noah Slade, a Formula 1 legend.

At first sight, it’s forbidden love, she cannot fall for her brother’s achnemesis, but of course they do.

A romance book with a splash of Formula 1.

Overall, we gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you’d like to join us in this month’s book, you can find it in Amazon.
